What are Custom Vape Boxes hot Printing?

Hot stamping, otherwise known as hot stamping, is a technique used to create a unique print. This method applies a thin metallic foil on the surface to be printed and can have different aspects, shiny or matte. 

How does hot printing work?

There are two different techniques for creating vape packaging boxes with hot stamping finishes. The most commonly used technique is printing on laminate film. The second method is digital printing which is increasingly used due to lower production costs than the first technique. 

Traditional hot printing

To achieve hot printing, the machines use metal plates on which the design to be printed is engraved. Plates can take many different shapes. The sheet is then added to the plates and is heated and then pressed onto the surface to be printed. The sheet is then glued and integrated into the printable surface. 

Each plate can include only one color. Therefore, if more than one color is to be heat printed then the technique must be repeated. 

Digital hot printing

The custom vape box digital hot stamping process works by printing the graphic digitally and using special foils. This means that digital hot printing does not require the manufacture of printing plates for each color used.

The Different Types of Leaves

The sheets most often used are the metallic sheets, which give a shiny appearance either gold or silver. The other sheets used are pigmented films and scrap metal sheets. Pigmented films are used on custom printed vape boxes surfaces and give a textured, glossy or matte appearance.
